As you know the prediction by Li Siguang, a famous geologist, that there were four places where giant earthquake would happen, actually he mainly pointed out the key earthquake belts in <\/span>China<\/span>.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Yesterday evening I searched the relative information on the web by some search engines and found a graph of the earthquake belts distribution in <\/span>China<\/span> which is posted here.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Because <\/span>China<\/span> is situated between two major earthquake belts \u2014 the \u201cPacific Ring of Fire\u201d and \u201cEurasia Earthquake Zone\u201d, <\/span>China<\/span>\u2019s seismic activities are quite frequent.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

China<\/span>\u2019s seismic activities mostly take place in 23 earthquake belts in 5 regions.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Here are the five regions:<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Taiwan<\/span> <\/span>Province<\/span> and its nearby seas;<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Southwestern regions, mainly referring to <\/span>Tibet<\/span>, western <\/span>Sichuan<\/span> and Mid-western Yunnan;<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Northwestern regions, mainly including Hexi Corridor region of Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia and the northern and southern sides of Mount Tianshan;<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Northern China<\/span> regions, including both sides of <\/span>Mount<\/span> <\/span>Taihang<\/span>, river valleys of River Fen and River Wei, regions around <\/span>Mount<\/span> <\/span>Yinshan<\/span> and <\/span>Mount<\/span> <\/span>Yanshan<\/span>, central <\/span>Shandong<\/span>, and the <\/span>Bay<\/span> of <\/span>Bohai<\/span>;<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Guangdong<\/span>, and <\/span>Fujian<\/span> etc. in southeastern coastal regions.<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

China<\/span>‘s <\/span>Taiwan<\/span> <\/span>Province<\/span> is situated in the "Pacific Ring of Fire", while the regions of <\/span>Tibet<\/span>, Xinjiang, and the provinces of <\/span>Yunnan<\/span>, <\/span>Sichuan<\/span>, and <\/span>Qinghai<\/span> in "Eurasia Earthquake Zone".<\/span><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n
