President Hu Jintao’s hometown of <\/span>Jixi<\/span> in <\/span>Anhui<\/span> <\/span>Province<\/span> became the setting for the Beijing Olympic Torch Relay this morning. <\/span>Jixi<\/span><\/font> is the only county-level stop on the Torch Relay in the Chinese mainland. Residents of Huangshan came out to see the Olympic Flame in their scenic city today. The relay in Huangshan began at <\/font><\/span>2:00 p.m.<\/span> Each of the 120 torchbearers along the route carried the flame about 77 meters. The next stop for the sacred flame is the city of <\/span>Wuhan<\/span> in <\/span>Hubei<\/span> <\/span>Province<\/span><\/font>. Huangshan is my hometown and I am proud of it. It is the doubled cultural and natural heritage entitled by UNESCO in 1990. With graceful waterways dotting the landscape, Huangshan is picture-perfect. Huangshan’s surroundings enforce the magnificence of the mountain backdrop; with the glorious <\/span>Taiping<\/span> <\/span>Lake<\/span> which is called \u201cthe lover of Mountain Huang\u201d and located in Huangshan District, adding to the peaceful atmosphere.<\/span><\/font> <\/p>\n

Numerous poems have been written about Huangshan, inspired by the area’s natural beauty. For example, it is said as in Chinese \u201c<\/span>\u4e00\u751f\u75f4\u7edd\u5904\uff0c\u65e0\u68a6\u5230\u5fbd\u5dde<\/span>\u201d. Xu Xiake, a famous tourist living in Ming Dynasty said in Chinese: \u201c<\/span>\u8584\u6d77\u5185\u5916\u65e0\u5982\u5fbd\u4e4b\u9ec4\u5c71\uff0c\u767b\u9ec4\u5c71\uff0c\u5929\u4e0b\u65e0\u5c71\uff0c\u89c2\u6b62\u77e3<\/span>\u201d! As the Xin\u2019an River, There is one popular poem written by Libai, a famous poet living in Tang Dynasty in Chinese: \u201c<\/span>\u6e05\u6eaa\u4f3c\u6211\u5fc3\uff0c\u6c34\u8272\u5f02\u8bf8\u6c34\uff0c\u501f\u5411\u65b0\u5b89\u6c5f\uff0c\u89c1\u5e95\u4f55\u5982\u6b64\uff1f\u4eba\u884c\u660e\u955c\u4e2d\uff0c\u9e1f\u5ea6\u5c4f\u98ce\u91cc<\/span>\u201d.
